How Do You Love the Unlovable? By: Stacy Wendell
(Part one of a series)

My heart was saddened to learn of the attack on my Pastor’s wife, and my friend. The whole idea of this attack happening in such a sacred place as the church blows my mind.  The devil is so busy and so evil. Even though the young lady who is accused of committing the act is considered to be troubled by mental health issues, I can’t help but think there is a darker force at work here. Sometimes the devil will use people who you would least expect to be his workers.

As Christians we are taught to embrace the unlovable and pray for our enemies, so what happens when your enemies are considered mortal threats? Do you still love the unlovable?  What happens when your enemy attacks?  I will not go in to an in-depth discussion here but I will say demons are among us on the earth and we must stay prayed up.  The presence of demons is real their impact on the world is real. Jesus encountered demons while here on the earth.  In Mark chapter 5 Jesus heals a man that is controlled by demons.  In the story the demons are cast into a herd of near by pigs. Jesus showed kindness to the man who was possessed.  He recognized the demon within the man and showed compassion.

What do we do if faced with the same circumstance?  Do we hold the attacker responsible and pass judgments based on what should be common sense and embrace the diagnosis of mental health gone wrong? Or do we recognize the demonic spirit that lives within and have compassion on the person?

The events at my church last Sunday have prompted me to do some soul searching and spiritually based study. I have trouble sleeping and I have been very uneasy about the idea of my friend, and First Lady of my church having to endure such pain as this. Over the next few weeks I will endeavor to study and feed my mind and spirit with The Word of God pertaining to demon possession, the impact on the church and forgiveness. As I embark on this journey I will share my thoughts and Revelations with you. I welcome your input and prayers. May the grace of God sustain us all.

Blessings and Love,
Sista Stacy
