On A Mission

I am among you as one who serves. Luke 22:27

I greet you with the joy of Jesus. This week I found myself making a greater effort to organize my life so that I can spend my time more effectively. As I began to fill the dates in my day planner I took a moment to read the scriptures associated with each day. The theme for June is “Servanthood”, I would define this term as the basic call of God’s people; to serve.

Jesus set the example for us, as he spent his life serving God faithfully.  In Luke 4:43 Jesus talks about doing what he was sent to do; “I must preach the good news …because that is why I was sent.” Jesus was on a mission.

A mission is a plan to work for a purpose; an assignment. As you take inventory of your own life I encourage you to ask yourself: Am I sticking to my mission?  As God’s chosen ones we are expected to be living examples of God’s love in the earth. That’s the Mission. It pleases God when we are a blessing to others, and serve Him with a humble heart through our deeds. The assignment is to embrace your role as God’s servant. The benefit of your obedience will bless you beyond any manner of measure. Are you on a Mission?
