December 2008 Music Review Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I greet you with the joy of Jesus as we celebrate this glorious holiday season. This month I am happy to share with you some brand new Christmas music for your consideration. Our first CD is a holiday offering from Bishop Paul S. Morton entitled “Paul Morton Christmas”. This project features original renditions of classic holiday songs. Overall I enjoyed the music on this CD and found it to be soothing. I have always found the music ministry of Bishop Morton to be inspirational and thought provoking. The one original track entitled “Christmas in Vain” is destined to become a holiday classic. Next up is holiday music from former R&B recording artist Coko. You may remember her unforgettable vocals from when she was a member of the popular girls group SWV. Much to our delight Coko is now a Gospel artist and her project “A Coko Christmas” is wonderful. Her voice is rich with so many melodic tones. This CD offers a few classic holiday songs and several original tracks like the dynamic song “We Thank You”. Pick this one up and add it to your holiday collection. Finally this month is a compilation CD entitled “And There Was Christmas”. If you are on a limited budget, like most of us are this holiday season, and purchasing several CDs is just not something you can do, this project offering holiday music from various artist just might be what you need this year to get into the spirit of the season. The project offers music from Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, 7 Sons of Soul, and Yolanda Adams just to name a few. It’s full to the brim with good food for the spirit and holiday cheer. I really enjoyed it. Well that’s it for now. Be sure to check in next month as we feature new projects from Bishop Hezekiah Walker and Kurt Carr. Watch out for the return of “The Local Artist of the Month”. If you are a local artist I want to hear from you for Local Artist of the Month consideration. Merry Christmas to you and yours, I pray that you always remember the greatest give you can give anyone is love.
