November 2008 Music Review Praise God from whom all blessings flow. We have come to a special time of the year. A time we set aside to give thanks for life’s richest blessings. This month I am please to share with you some music that will help to usher in a spirit of thanksgiving. Our first CD this month is from Tyscot Recording artist Christopher Lewis. This double CD project entitled “Crisis - Change is Required” is very unique. It’s a mixture of small skits, spoken word, and soul stirring, thought provoking music. I will admit I had to listen a few times to understand the flow of the music and the components of this CD, but it was enjoyable. (www.tyscot.com) Take 6 is up next with their new CD entitled “The Standard”. This legendary group of talented men is known for their distinctive brand of music. If you are a new Take 6 fan or a Take 6 expert, this new project doesn’t disappoint. The new CD features music with Aaron Neville, George Benson, and a remake of an Ella Fitzgerald classic “A Tisket a Tasket”. Enjoy! (www.take6.com) Zomba Gospel recording artist and former R&B crooner Dave Hollister offers our next project entitled “Witness Protection”. I have always enjoyed listening to Dave Hollister’s music and I was very excited to see he recorded a full gospel project. His voice is so soulful and real. The songs “Striving”, “Church” and “Just Worship” are among my favorites. (www.zombagospel.com) I was blown away by the music ministry of this anointed woman of God, so humble, so sincere and so ready for the next level: IMOK Gospel Music recording artist Angela Hall is our Local Artist of the Month. Her project entitled “Beautiful God” is a wondrous praise offering by a beautiful woman. I encourage each of you to purchase the CD “Beautiful God” one for you and one to be a blessing to another for the holidays. You will not be disappointed. For more information log onto: www.imokgospelmusic.com. Angela Hall, catch the rising star! Well that’s all for now. Be sure to check in next month as we feature more of the best in Gospel and Christian Contemporary music, plus a special holiday music feature.
