July 2009 Music Review

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I am happy to be back with you sharing the best in Gospel and Christian Contemporary music. I pray your summer has been restful so far. This Month we celebrate some great men of gospel.

Our first CD this month is the much anticipated release from the multi talented artist Tonex. A Few Months ago I had the awesome experience of seeing Tonex in concert at Christian Love Baptist Church in Irvington NJ. I was blown away by the music ministry and skill of this blessed man of God.  The new project is entitled “Unspoken”. As expected, this project is a unique musical experience, definitely ministry out the box!

Next up is an inspirational new project from Norman Hutchins entitled “God is Faithful”. This CD is very mellow.  I was truly blessed by the ministry of this music. The title track is a wonderful congregation worship song. Pick this one up.
Ben Tankard is our next featured artist. His CD entitled “Mercy Mercy Mercy” is a representation of Gospel Jazz excellence. This project will soothe your soul. The CD is a blend of instrumental tracks and some vocals. I love the track “No Ordinary Love” a remake of a Sade classic. Include this one in your summer music soundtrack.

Finally, I am pleased to present our Local Artist of the Month Brooklyn’s own: Young Decent. His CD entitled “God’s Way” is really a blessing. This project offers an unique blend of soulful singing and powerful Gospel Hip hop.
