May 2008 Music Review
By Stacy Wendell

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! It’s so wonderful to be back with you sharing the very best in Christian Music.  Spring has sprung and the blooms are beautiful.

The month of May is a great time of year. It’s the month we set aside to celebrate Mother’s Day and it's also my birthday month. Here are two CD’s guaranteed to make the Mom in your life feel blessed.

Our first CD comes from a Gospel Legend in her own right: Dorinda Clark Cole with a CD entitled “Take it Back”.  For many years this anointed woman of God has fed food into our spirits with beautiful music and timely lyrics. This latest project is guaranteed to add another Stellar Award to her multiple collection of awards and accolades. The title track “Take it Back” is an anthem of freedom that’s destine to become a classic.  This foot stomping song will make you take authority over what the devil has tried to steal.  The remaining tracks are equally as inspirational; the tracks “Make Me Real” and “It’s Okay”( a duet with her niece KeKe Sheard) will encourage your heart. This project recorded on Zomba Records, offers music that speaks to every generation, and it makes a great gift! www.dorindaclarkcole.net

Liz McComb is up next with an anointed praise offering entitled “The Spirit of New Orleans”. This Cleveland Ohio native has become an international success with her phenomenal vocal styling and amazing musicianship. Her unique sound and style will remind of a simpler time in music when Mahaila Jackson was the Queen. On this project Liz McComb offers the very best in Traditional Gospel with a New Orleans Jazz flavor. I highly recommend checking it out; For more info go to www.lizmccomb.com.

That does it for now, but next month I am really excited because I would like to dedicate this review to our local/independent artists. So if you are a Local or Independent Artists I want to hear from you ASAP! Maybe we can show you some love! Happy Mother’s Day and remember to always cherish your mom, she is a gift from God. (I Love you, Momma Mazie!) Until we meet again, be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
