Change is Here

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I greet you with the joy of Jesus.

As we embark on what promises to be a historical period of time; as Mr. Obama takes office as our next  president my thoughts and prayers turn to the nation’s capital.

I am so grateful for all the people who would not take no for an answer during the Civil Rights Movement. The faithful pioneers made tremendous sacrifices so we could live to see a time such as this.

The timing of the inauguration is appropriate as we also set aside a special day to acknowledge the legacy and life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.  I can imagine he would be so happy and honored to see this day. The dream is becoming a reality on many levels.

I am so inspired by the transformation that is taking place. It is so refreshing and invigorating. You can almost feel the winds of change in the air.

On Monday, as you enjoy your day off from work for “King Day”, I would encourage you do something with your time that means something. Celebrate the dream; take a moment to make a difference in someone else’s life. 

On Tuesday, whoever you voted for, now is the time for us to come together and look to God to guide us. As you watch the inauguration, say a prayer for our nation, and the man who has been elected to lead us to the next level. Say a prayer for his family, for the grace of God to be upon them. 

We are so blessed. God has brought us from a mighty long way. 

Change is here. Embrace the Dream.
